This is going to be a fun filled, productive year. Seriously, it is going to be awesome!!! But, in order to do our best learning, we need some school supplies.

In Fundations, we will continue Unit 8 on r controlled syllables (ar, er, ir, or, and ur). Elsewhere in Language Arts, we will be reading "Officer Buckle and Gloria" and learning about abbreviations for days, addresses, months and titles. For Writer's Workshop, we will continue opinion writing with a paragraph on whether second graders should have their own cell phones. Math finds us finishing Chapter 10 on Fractions and Probability with a test on Monday, April 14th. Religion is all about Holy Week and the Stations of the Cross as we prepare for Easter. On the menu for Science is Chapter 8 on the Solar System. Social Studies is all about American symbols and monuments.

Reminders:
Students may bring in an afternoon snack each day.
Remember to charge computers every night.
Make sure your child has some quiet reading books in school.
Students should bring pencils home weekly to sharpen.
Please make sure your child has a water bottle in school.- We still need gallon containers, Elmer's Glue, and bags of cotton balls for our Big Mouth Bunnies.
