Some of the things we do in music are: sing, play musical instruments, read music, compose music, conduct music, move to music, listen to and learn about music of many different eras and styles, learn about the role of music in prayer, learn about instruments, learn about careers in music, make connections with music and our every day lives, and relate music to other arts.  We also rehearse music for school liturgies and the annual Christmas Pageant.  In 3rd grade, students learn to play the recorder.

Grading is as follows:

95 and above is E on report card- Exceeding Expectations

85-94 is M- Meeting Expectations

75-84 is G- Growing Proficiency

74 and below is L- Limited Proficiency

In K-4 the grade is based on class work.

In 5-8 the grade is based on class work, tests, and projects.

Class work grades are based on attentiveness, engagement, and contribution to the class.
